Reports have claimed that Germany's controversial hand-over-mouth protest prior to their game with Japan was not unanimously supported by the players.
Hansi Flick's side were one of a number of European nations that intended on having their captains wear a OneLove armband promoting LGBT tolerance during the World Cup in Qatar.
However, prior to the tournament, FIFA informed the participating sides that any player that took to the pitch wearing the armband would be shown a yellow card, with additional sanctions also discussed.
In their opening game of the competition, German captain Manuel Neuer did not wear the armband, but when the team posed for a photograph prior to kick-off each player held their hand in front of their mouth, an apparent protest against FIFA's threat of sanctions.
