The Bulldogs are known as the 'family club' - and the NRL club is looking after one of their own when it comes to Sandy Campbell.
A former winger and centre, Campbell is now homeless and also battling throat cancer.
After it emerged this week the 56-year-old is living rough at Tweed Heads near the Queensland border, Canterbury officials have stepped into help.
'We have begun reaching out to see how we can assist,' chairman John Khoury said.
'Whether it be through housing, medical, financial assistance or other, we will try and do what we can to support our former player in his time of need.'
