The England WAGs held their heads in their hands when England went down to France 2-1 in the World Cup quarter-final crunch.

The squad's wives and girlfriends appeared devastated when Oliver Giroud scored an opportunistic header to send the Les Bleus back in front of the Three Lions.

The glamorous women were among the thousands of England fans supporting Southgate's men in the stadium and fan zones this evening as they took on France. 

The winners of the match will go on to face Morocco in the semi-finals on Wednesday after the African nation triumphed over Portugal. 

The celebratory cheers came after the squad's wives and girlfriends shared looks of disbelief when partners went down 1-0 to France. 

The WAGs - sporting blue and white - were seen covering their faces after France took the lead against the Three Lions in Al Bayt Stadium tonight.

The ladies of football looked horrorified when defending champions France took the lead after 17 minutes of play.

The goal, which was driven in low from 25 yards by the Real Madrid midfielder, came moments after Bukayo Saka appeared to have been fouled at the other end of the pitch.

England looked to strike back immediately, winning a free-kick just on the edge of the French box, but Luke Shaw's effort was comfortably collected by French keeper Hugo Lloris.

The two teams looked very well matched from the first whistle with end-to-end football delighting the fans in Qatar's Al-Bayt stadium.

They have been wearing replica Three Lions shirts - in an alleged bid to avoid the spotlight - while watching the World Cup matches in Qatar.

The women are 'there to support the team and not make it all about them,' a source previously told The Daily Mail. 

'The talk is about what is happening on the pitch, not off it.’

The photo was posted without additional comment from the mother-of-one, and is no longer present on her Instagram account.
