Turner had been the Commanders' OC for the previous three seasons. Under his tutelage this season, Washington had the 20th ranked offense in the National Football League, averaging 330.3 yards per game. The NFC East franchise struggled with continuity at the quarterback position through 2022, with offseason acquisition Carson Wentz, quasi backup Taylor Heinicke and rookie Sam Howell all starting at various stages. The Washington Commanders have fired offensive coordinator Scott Turner per reports Head coach Ron Rivera, who was presumed to be under the hot seat for an unimpressive season, was noticeably succinct when discussing Turner's performance in his press conference Tuesday.
