A mural honoring Buffalo Bills safety Damar Hamlin has drawn the attention of the player himself as he continues to recover from a cardiac arrest two weeks ago.

The art paying tribute to Hamlin was put up in the Larkinville neighborhood of Buffalo - just under two miles from the city's center and about 12 miles away from the team's stadium in Orchard Park.

The mural's artist, Adam Zyglis, spoke about his inspiration behind the mural, telling TMZ, 'I completed the illustration late last week after reading news of Damar Hamlin returning to Buffalo and coming home.

'That moment of tragedy united the country across team allegiances and party lines. It was a human moment, and his recovery was an illustration of Buffalo's strength, love, and resiliency. As the coach said, it was much bigger than football.'

Hamlin saw the mural and tweeted out asking for its location, adding an emoji of a heart made of hands and two flame emojis as well.

It was 15 days ago when Hamlin collapsed on the field at Paycor Stadium in Cincinnati after tackling Bengals WR Tee Higgins.

Hamlin was administered CPR on the field and was then taken to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center where he was placed in the intensive care unit in critical condition.

After a series of tests and a number of days, Hamlin was able to have his breathing tube removed and was awake and responding to doctors.

Following that, he was able to speak and neurological tests found no change in his brain function.

Hamlin watched on from the hospital that Sunday when his Bills teammates played their final game of the season against the New England Patriots, defeating them and starting the contest off with an opening kickoff return for a touchdown.
