The Serie A leaders went behind in the 13th minute when Charles Pickel found the net, but they were level 20 minutes later thanks to defender Juan Jesus, and then went in front nine minutes before halt time through Giovanni Simeone. That looked like being enough to secure the victory for Luciano Spalletti's side, only for Felix Afena-Gyan to head home an 87th-minute equaliser to force extra time.
