Former Monday Night Football host Lisa Guerrero has revealed that she suffered a miscarriage in the middle of an NFL game shown on live TV during the 2003-2004 season.

Guerrero, who is now an investigative correspondent for the nationally syndicated newsmagazine Inside Edition, shared one of her most painful moments in her new memoir Warrior, which reflects on the former model's only year in sports journalism with ABC from two decades ago after taking over from Melissa Stark.

The memoir is set to go on sale starting on January 24. In it, she claims that she received unfair criticism from then-professional sportsmen and from her ex-boss, sports broadcast executive producer Fred Gaudelli, who now provides NFL coverage for Amazon Prime Video.

Guerrero also claimed Gaudelli was part of the trolls among ABC's weekly audience of 40million people who would constantly criticize her looks, posture and on-air skills.

She also alleged that he would frequently make insensitive comments that nearly pushed the sportscaster so far to the edge that she contemplated suicide.

Gaudelli has previously denied similar accusations made by Guerrero, claiming in a 2021 statement to the New York Post that he 'did his best to support and encourage her.'

At the time, Guerrero and her fiancé, former MLB pitcher Scott Erickson, were fantasizing 'about what our baby would look like,' despite agreeing to not have any children.

Guerrero and Erickson had gotten pregnant during the season and the increasing pressure eventually came to a head.

The eight-time National Headliner Award-winning journalist revealed her miscarriage happened when she was 8-to-12 weeks pregnant.
