Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott admits it 'sucks' that they must wait another year to try and reach the Super Bowl after Sunday's playoff defeat to the San Francisco 49ers.

Prescott endured a miserable evening as Dallas were beaten 19-12 by San Francisco at Levi's Stadium, throwing two key interceptions which cost his team dearly on the night.

The 29-year-old failed to build on his superb display against Tampa Bay Buccaneers last week, in which he outshined rival QB Tom Brady, meaning the Cowboys were sent home at the Divisional Round. 

After the loss, a disappointed but motivated Prescott said: 'If I had the answers, then we would've won tonight. Too early. Too soon. And I promise you we will, though. In my time playing on this team, for this organization, we will.
