The 2022 NFL season proved particularly challenging for Tom Brady amid his divorce from Gisele Bundchen and the struggling Tampa Bay Buccaneers' record, and it reportedly took its toll on the quarterback in the form of weight loss. 

Brady and Bundchen announced their divorce on October 28, 2022 following weeks of speculation since the beginning of the NFL preseason. 

The seven-time Super Bowl winner hadn't got off to an ideal start on the field either with his Bucs posting a record of 3-5 by Week 8. 

It has now been revealed that the 45-year-old lost 15 pounds during the season, while coping with woes in both his personal and professional life, according to ESPN's Jeff Darlington. 

'When Brady sat quietly at his locker after an October 27 loss to the Ravens, marking his first three-game losing streak in two decades, the truth of his pain would be revealed the following morning,' Darlington detailed in his report, referencing Brady's social media statement confirming that his marriage was over.

Since the Week 8 loss, Brady and the Bucs did manage to bounce back as the quarterback appeared to put his struggles behind him. 

The Buccaneers ultimately finished 8-9 in the regular season and clinched spot in the wild card round of the playoffs before ultimately crashing out to the Dallas Cowboys 31-14. 

Brady briefly retired last February after 22 seasons in the NFL but performed a U-turn on his decision just 40 days later to return to the Bucs for this season. 

However, after a tumultuous year in Tampa Bay, it remains to be seen if Brady has another season left in him. 

He is set to become a free agent this offseason and his Buccaneers teammates reportedly already believe he will not be returning to Tampa with the Las Vegas Raiders said to be interested.
