The former Premier League striker admitted that he had not had vegan food before, but insisted he was willing to give it a try. 'I'm looking forward to trying one. I don't think I have (tried vegan food),' Ferguson replied awkwardly after the two burgers were handed out. 'They look lovely, don't they? Very nice indeed. I look forward to eating that later!' The attention turned to Vince, who detailed the club's approach to food, and explained that it is not just players that are given meat-free products. Ferguson has taken his first permanent role in the dugout, and is tasked with keeping Forest Green in League One 'It's a broader policy than that. As a club, all of the food that we serve to anyone, players, staff and fans is plant-based, no animal products,' he said. Ferguson looked a little bemused throughout the conversation, but the interviewer persisted, asking the Scot whether he was environmentally-friendly. 'We try at home. Obviously I need to do a lot more as we all do,' Ferguson replied. 'The earth is warming up, isn't it? So we need to all do our bit. Since I've come here, I'm sure I'll learn a lot more.' Ferguson will now get the chance to focus on matters on the pitch, with Forest Green back in action on Saturday. His side travel to Shrewsbury, having failed to win any of their last eight games in all competitions, as they look to move off the foot of the table.
