The 32-year-old England right-back, who joined the Magpies from Atletico Madrid in January last year, has helped Eddie Howe's side keep 16 clean sheets in all competitions this season. Trippier told the club's official website: 'I'm absolutely delighted that I've extended my contract here. I've got a lot of thank yous to make to the manager, owners, fans and my teammates. Kieran Trippier has signed a contract extension to keep him Newcastle until the summer of 2025 Newcastle boss Eddie Howe said it was a 'fitting reward' to extend Trippier's contract with the 32-year-old helping the Magpies keep 16 clean sheets 'When I first arrived here, they made me feel so welcome and I want to help the club achieve great things. It's a positive moment for us players in the club and there's no place I'd rather be.' Newcastle boss Howe added: 'It's a fitting reward for the season he's had. 'He's been outstanding both on and off the pitch, showing real leadership at a difficult moment when he first arrived, and now he's excelled in a team that's doing well. I can't praise him enough for everything he's given the club.' The England international went on to say that it was an easy decision to extend his stay at St James' Park. 'I think it was easy because I'm enjoying my football. I think I'm playing the best football of my career here at Newcastle. 'We are challenging for the cup, good position in the league and it's a bright future ahead for Newcastle.' Trippier is correct in his assessment of Newcastle's excellence this season, with Howe's side in the semi-final of the Carabao Cup, while also sitting third in the Premier League, only behind Manchester City and Arsenal. The Magpies have conceded just 11 goals all season thanks to the brilliance of their defence, including Nick Pope in goal as a final barrier. It's been a successful Friday afternoon for Newcastle, with the club also agreeing to sign Anthony Gordon from his boyhood club, Everton.
