Newcastle have completed the signing of Everton forward Anthony Gordon for a fee that could rise to £45m.
Eddie Howe's side agreed a deal of £40million plus £5m in add-ons on Friday, before the 21-year-old had his medical on Saturday after a week of talks between the clubs.
The Newcastle boss had identified Gordon as his top January target and will be delighted to have landed his man.

There were concerns that the arrival of Marcelo Bielsa as manager at Goodison Park could halt the deal, given he wanted pace in his team. However, when the move for Bielsa collapsed and Sean Dyche emerged as Everton’s choice - with the former Burnley boss expected to be appointed imminently - the Gordon transfer was allowed to proceed.
Newcastle had enquired about him in the summer but were put off by a £60m asking price. Those demands remained earlier this week, as Sportsmail reported on Tuesday.

However, there was always confidence a compromise would be reached given Gordon’s desire to quit his boyhood club. He could now make his Newcastle debut at home to West Ham next Saturday.
