Sean Dyche has insisted that he does not feel let down by Everton's board after the club failed to make any signings on deadline day.
Dyche was appointed as Everton's new manager on Monday, and the Premier League strugglers were expected to aid him by strengthening their squad on the final day of the transfer window.
Yet the Toffees failed to get anyone through the door, leaving Dyche to work with the same group of players that Frank Lampard had. But Dyche has refused to blame Everton's hierarchy for the lack of signings, and has claimed that they did everything possible to bring in new players.
'All I've seen is hard work, particularly in the recruitment area. I've been leaving here late at night, Kev (Thelwell) was on the phone, the owner was on the phone, so there absolutely was hard work,' Dyche said at his press conference ahead of his side's home clash with Arsenal on Saturday.
'What promises can you make? We need to align. You can make promises but you need to know the deal that makes them. I'm not going to talk about players. Loads of phone calls were made, loads of offers
