Serie A side Sampdoria could be hit with a points deduction after failing to pay their players for the final quarter of 2022, according to reports in Italy.
Sampdoria are currently second-bottom in Serie A, nine points adrift of safety, after picking up just two wins from their opening 20 league games.
They are also having difficulties off the pitch after it emerged that Sampdoria owe their players and staff a total of €11m (£9.8m) in wages for the last three months of 2022, as reported by Gazzetta dello Sport.
