The charges against Cincinnati Bengals running back Joe Mixon reportedly have been requested to be dropped by the city prosecutors office.
An arrest warrant was issued for Mixon on Thursday on account of aggravated menacing after he allegedly pointed a firearm at a woman on January 21 but the city prosecutors office now wishes to drop the charges, according to Newsradio 700 WLW.
Hamilton County Municipal Court Presiding Judge Curt Kissinger has said that he will dismiss the charges but only once he is sure the alleged victim in the case has been notified.
It is unclear why prosecutors have asked for the charges to be dismissed but Mixon's agent Peter Schaffer had hit back Thursday night, saying the charges would be dropped on Friday.
He also said that police rushed to judgement in the case, which reportedly involved a road rage incident downtown Cincinnati.
