Jimmy Greaves' family has spoken out after Harry Kane broke his Tottenham goalscoring record, insisting the icon would have been 'absolutely delighted' to see Kane's feat.
Spurs striker Kane scored his 267th goal for the club in a 1-0 win against Manchester City on Sunday, taking him one past Greaves' previous record of 266.
And Greaves' family responded generously to the milestone, congratulating the England captain for his goalscoring brilliance.
Danny Greaves, the late great's son, spoke in a video message on the big screen at the Tottenham Hotspur stadium after full-time in north London.
He said: 'If anyone was to beat it, he'd be absolutely delighted it was you,' speaking about his father, who passed away in 2021.
