To many fans, George Piggins is the South Sydney Rabbitohs - and he is now returning to the club after a spat spanning 17 years.
Piggins, 78, saved the proud club during their battle for reinclusion in the NRL, marching the streets of Sydney and putting up $3.2million of his own money.
But when Russell Crowe and businessman Peter Holmes a Court bought the club in 2006, Piggins was fuming at the direction of the team and the fact he had to reapply for life membership.
Piggins has done it all for Souths: 188 matches at hooker, 120 games as coach, chairman and administrator. The Bunnies' best and fairest medal is even named after him.
