Carlos Corberan has turned down Leeds United to sign a new deal at West Bromwich Albion.

The 39-year-old had been shortlisted by Leeds in their search for a successor to Jesse Marsch who they sacked on Monday morning.

Corberan was favoured by many within the club including owner Andrea Radrizzani, however, West Brom have made it clear they see him as the man to take them up this season and want him to oversee a long-term plan resulting in their return to the Premier League.

Though he was understood to be flattered by Leeds' interest he ultimately decided to continue his progress with Albion.

Leeds are continuing to talk to multiple candidates but West Brom have moved quickly to secure Corberan to a four and a half year contract.
