Embattled Memphis Grizzlies superstar Ja Morant could be facing a 50-game ban for violating the current NBA collective bargaining agreement if found to have carried a gun on team premises.

Morant went on Instagram Live from a Denver gentleman's club after a Friday night loss to the Nuggets, flaunting a gun to some of his nine million followers.

Resultantly, he was banned for two games - and later deemed to be out indefinitely by coach Taylor Jenkins.

According to multiple reports, both the league and Colorado Police are investigating how the gun made it to the Denver area.

Under the league's current CBA, Morant will be hit with an 'automatic 50-game suspension', which would rule him out of the entirety of the NBA season - playoffs included - and then some.

Police in Glendale, Colorado - a suburb of Denver - is investigating to see if Morant broke any gun laws.

Morant was seen dancing topless in a strip club on his Instagram just hours after the Grizzlies' defeat in Denver last Friday.

In the aftermath, he issued an apology as the precocious talent takes time away from the league.

'I take full responsibility for my actions last night,' Morant said Saturday. 'I'm sorry to my family, teammates, coaches, fans, partners, the city of Memphis and the entire Grizzlies organization for letting you down.

'I'm going to take some time away to get help and work on learning better methods of dealing with stress and my overall well-being.'
