Rio Ferdinand feels Tottenham fans will be left 'hoping' Harry Kane wants to be a one-club man after they crashed out of the Champions League on Wednesday night.
Spurs' 0-0 draw with AC Milan meant they were out of the competition after losing the first leg 1-0, just seven days after also being knocked out of the FA Cup by Sheffield United.
It means that Kane, who recently became Tottenham's all-time leading goal scorer and is chasing down Alan Shearer's Premier League record, will remain trophy-less at the end of his 13th year at the club.
'Whatever happens silverware-wise, Spurs fans will be hoping that Harry Kane is 'that' guy,' said Ferdinand on BT Sport: 'They'll hope he wants to be 'Mr. Spurs' for the rest of his career.'
'If I was him I’d be looking at pastures new to get some silverware. It's not long ago playing the Champions League final and finishing second in the league, but they're a club that are moving further and further away from where he wants to be. He needs to go where he thinks he’ll get his hands on a trophy quickest.'
