The forward, on loan from Burnley, scored United's fourth in a comfortable 4-1 first-leg victory in the Round of 16. Before Thursday's clash, Weghorst had only scored one goal for the club in a 3-0 victory over Nottingham Forest in the Carabao Cup on January 25. After the match, Paul Scholes told BT Sport: 'I think he was slightly pleased with his goal, I think he's been waiting for that. 'I think everyone at the club is pleased for him. The players around him.' He went on to add: 'You could see how happy people were for him. He does do a lot of hard work, and work that probably goes unseen. You can see the players around him appreciate him.' More to follow.. Share or comment on this article: All rights reserved for this news site (dailymail) and under his responsibility
