There were fears that Durant could miss the entire rest of the season, but he underwent an MRI today and it was noted that the swelling around his ankle had decreased from the night before. 'I feel bad for him because he feels bad,' Suns coach Monty Williams said after the game. 'I saw his face and -- I've been around him so many times -- I know what he's feeling, and I don't want him feeling that way at all.' The game would have been Durant's home debut after playing in three games since he was traded to the Suns just before the NBA trade deadline. (@sportingnews) March 9, 2023 In the three games he has featured in since the trade Durant has averaged 26.7 points, 7.3 rebounds and 3.7 assists. Durant's new teammate Devin Booker seems to have benefitted the most seeing as he has unearthed a franchise record-setting hot streak since Durant was added to the lineup. Booker has scored 35 or more points in all three games with Durant added to the lineup. His average for the season has been 27.2 points, showing just how much he has benefited from Durant's presence. Even after Durant was ruled out shortly before the game, Booker's hot streak continued as he became the first player in Suns history with four straight games scoring 35 points or more. Though the injury is not as severe as some fans initially feared by thinking Durant might be held out for the rest of the season it is likely that the Suns will be cautious with bringing him back onto the court. Durant had already been suffering from a sprained his MCL before being traded from the Nets that required him to continuing recovering once he arrived in Phoenix. Durant has so far played in three games for the Suns and is averaging 29.5 points per game Share or comment on this article: All rights reserved for this news site (dailymail) and under his responsibility
