The wife of AFL star Jeremy Finlayson has shared a moving update on social media as she battles terminal cancer.

Kellie Finlayson - who previously beat a bout of bowel cancer, only for it to spread to her lungs - this week posted some very uplifting news.

It came soon after she met pop megastar Ed Sheeran in person before his Adelaide concert.

'In line with this week's theme of 'lucky girl syndrome' my tumour markers are tracking below the suspicion levels, chemo is working better than expected & the cancer is unable to thrive!!!' the mother of one wrote on Instagram.

'Someone buy me a lottery ticket, honestly.'
