Neymar provided a positive update with his fans after undergoing surgery on his ankle after being forced off on a stretcher in a Ligue 1 match in February.

The Brazilian international was facing league rivals Lille when he damaged the same right ankle he injured during his national team's Qatar World Cup campaign.

The Paris Saint-Germain star missed out on the remainder of his country's group stage matches after spraining the ankle against Serbia, but was back in action in their round of 16 fixture versus South Korea.

But after being taken off on a stretcher whilst on domestic duty, the forward learnt that the injury would end his season prematurely.

The 31-year-old travelled to Doha to undergo surgery on Friday at Aspetar, the Qatar-backed PSG's medical partner, and will be delighted that the surgery was successful.
