Incoming New Orleans Saints quarterback Derek Carr has insisted he is going to continue putting God first after inking his $150million contract with the team.

The Saints agreed to a four-year deal worth a reported $150m to acquire the former Las Vegas Raiders quarterback last week and he put pen to paper on his contract on Saturday.

The 31-year-old, who almost gave up his NFL career to become a Christian pastor, made it clear that he intends to continue making his faith a priority after signing his new deal.

'My faith is number 1. That will never change, no matter what, good or bad,' Carr said at his introductory press conference at the weekend, via Breitbart

He continued to explain that his faith was a big part of his and his family's life but insisted it didn't mean that he would force his religion on people.
