It is nearly seventy years to the day since Brentford last beat Leicester and Brendan Rodgers will be thankful that run continued this afternoon.
Both sides were far from their best here but Harvey Barnes’ equaliser early in the second-half after Mathias Jensen’s opener for Brentford helped to at least stop the rot for the Northern Irishman’s side.
This point stopped their run of defeats extending to six matches but by no means has it eased fears of relegation. That threat is still very real with the Foxes only out of the relegation zone by one point and two places.
The fact this result will be regarded as a disappointment for Brentford highlights just how different the paths both of these clubs are on at the minute.
The Bees maintained their remarkable record of suffering only one defeat at home this season - which came back in September against league leaders Arsenal – and this draw should be no means end dreams of a first foray into Europe.

They were, it is easy to forget, a Championship club only two seasons ago and remain just five points off a Europa League spot.
Perhaps the clearest sign that the pressure is beginning to take its toll on Rodgers was his decision to drop goalkeeper Danny Ward, who had started all 26 Premier League games so far this season, and hand a Premier League debut to Daniel Iversen.
