Do not be taken in by the attack on the players and the constant belittling of the club. Antonio Conte's latest and most outrageous rant yet is all about him.
This whole season has been an exercise in Conte protecting his precious reputation from the moment last summer he called Djed Spence a 'club' signing and it is Spurs and the fans who are paying the price.
He wants to go. At Southampton he was issuing a 'come and sack me' plea. Conte wants out of a club he has never felt is good enough for him.
It's always been a case of him believing he is somehow doing this 'small' club a favour - one that has a better Champions League record than him, by the way – by taking £15million of Daniel Levy's money to take us back to the footballing dark ages.
Frankly it's embarrassing now and his departure cannot come soon enough for me and a fanbase I have never known be so disillusioned with the direction of our club. I'm sick of it and Levy should be doing what he has done so many times before by showing Conte the door.
