Tottenham club hierarchy are yet to come to a decision as to whether they should sack Antonio Conte following his extraordinary post-match outburst on Saturday.
During the blistering 10-minute rant that followed Tottenham's limp 3-3 draw with Southampton, Conte poured scorn on his players, lambasting them as 'selfish' and undeserving of 'excuses', as well as the club's history.
'They don't want to play under pressure, they don't want to play under stress. It is easy in this way,' the Italian manager said.
'Tottenham's story is this. Twenty years there is the owner and they never won something but why?'
But according to reports in The Telegraph, Conte spoke with chairman Daniel Levy, who was present at the match, after the explosive press conference and assured him that he had not targeted the club or its owners.
Antonio Conte has assured his chairman that his criticisms did not extend to the club itself
