A new chapter in one of the great rugby league rivalries will be written when Manly take on the Rabbitohs on Saturday night - but there's an off-field feud between the coaches has also been simmering away behind the scenes.
South Sydney coach Jason Demetriou and Manly's Anthony Seibold have beef that can be traced back to when they were both competing for Wayne Bennett's job at the Broncos.
During Demetriou's interview he showed the team evidence that he coached very well against sides coached by Seibold in the Queensland Cup.
However, Seibold got the nod for the role and Demetriou, who was Wayne Bennett's right-hand man, was let go by the Broncos.
The pair got into a war of words in 2019 when Demetriou, who had by then followed Bennett to Redfern, challenged Seibold's ability to coach in finals.
