Wayne Rooney has led the tributes for Harry Kane after the forward broke England's all-time leading goal scorer record.
Kane netted from the penalty spot against Italy to move ahead of Rooney at the top of the list on 54 goals.
His strike came in his 81st game after missing the opportunity in his 80th when he missed a penalty against France.
The forward released an outpouring of emotion upon netting in Naples, a strike which put England 2-0 up in their opening Euro 2024 qualifier.
Alan Shearer, Steven Gerrard and Gary Lineker were among the other former England stars to congratulate Kane online.
Harry Kane became England's all-time leading goal scorer with a strike against
