Former Manchester United midfielder Paul Scholes hit out at Antonio Conte for blaming his downfall as Tottenham head coach on 'the same old b****cks' in a now-deleted post on Instagram.
Spurs finally announced Conte's departure late on Sunday night, with the Italian leaving by 'mutual consent' one week on from his astonishing outburst after their 3-3 draw at Southampton.
Conte let rip from all angles during that rant, accusing his players of crumbling under pressure while highlighting the club's silverware shortage in recent decades, which he appeared to put down to Levy's lack of ambition in the transfer market.
Levy and Spurs officials have taken widespread criticism in the wake of his exit, which comes two years after Jose Mourinho was dismissed in similar circumstances, leading many to believe the job is becoming a poisoned chalice.
Nevertheless, that is despite Conte receiving £150million worth of new signings in the previous summer window, £60million of which was spent on Brazilian forward Richarlison.
