Arsenal legend Martin Keown believes that the Gunners may have had a part to play in Antonio Conte's departure from Tottenham.

Conte left Tottenham by mutual consent on Sunday, with his 16-month tenure coming to an end after an extraordinary rant about his own players in his post-match press conference following the draw with Southampton.

Keown feels that the fact that league leaders Arsenal are 20 points clear of their rivals has put Tottenham under pressure.

Conte guided Tottenham to Champions League qualification last season at Arsenal's expense, but Mikel Arteta's side have since pushed on.  

Keown told talkSPORT: ‘I think they should have kept him until the end of the season, no doubt.’
