MLB's implementation of a pitch clock seems to have had the desired effects, with spring training games 26 minutes shorter this year than last.

The league tested out the new feature in the preseason and saw the much quicker game it was hoping for, with games lasting 2:35 according to ESPN

That compares with a time of 3:01 in last year's spring training, and games that lasted 3:03 on average in last regular season.

With the pitch clock, pitchers have 15 seconds to throw the ball with the bases unoccupied.

With runners on base, a pitcher can take up to 20 seconds.
