New York Giants co-owner John Mara has blasted other NFL owners who voted in favor of a proposal that would have allowed the league to flex Sunday games to Thursday night in the 2023 season, describing the voting process as 'close.'

Mara, 68, is annoyed at his NFL counterparts for bringing forward a suggestion that would not only affect fan attendance at games but also coaches and players in their recovery and readiness for big matchups.

'I am adamantly opposed to do that,' Mara told The New York Post from the annual NFL meeting in Phoenix, Arizona. People have gotten used to going from Sunday afternoon to Sunday night [when a game is flexed].

'But to flex a game back to Thursday night, to me, is just abusive and I am adamantly opposed to it.'
