The Ravens have also made a play for Beckham, who met with Baltimore brass during this week's league meetings in Arizona. One source tells Graziano that neither the Jets nor the Packers are in a rush to complete the Rodgers trade, which has been in the works since the four-time MVP requested the move earlier this month. The good news for impatient Jets, according to the source, is that 'much of this [deal] remains done.' Graziano reports that the Packers' haul will most likely include several high draft picks, but not necessarily a first-round selection. One hang-up, according to a recent Yahoo report, is that some draft-pick protections are the issue, including contingencies on Rodgers' potential retirement after the 2023 season. The 39-year-old admittedly was leaning towards retirement before requesting a trade to the Jets, and New York's math on the trade could differ significantly if they get Rodgers for only one season as opposed to two or three. Amid highly publicized trade talks for Green Bay Packers legend Aaron Rodgers , the New York Jets have emerged as the most likely landing spot for free-agent receiver Odell Beckham Jr. For Beckham, such a move would be a return to the New York area after playing the first five years of his career with the Giants. It was with the Giants that the former LSU star made his most famous catch in a Sunday night game against the Dallas Cowboys: a falling, one-handed grab in the end zone as a defender committed pass interference. He would record 5,476 receiving yards and 44 touchdown catches with the Giants before being dealt to Cleveland for a first-round pick that New York used to draft stud defensive tackle Dexter Lawrence. Beckham would struggle in Cleveland before ultimately being cut and signing with the Los Angeles Rams in 2021 en route to his first and only Super Bowl win. Unfortunately for Beckham, that title came at a price, as he tore the ACL in his left knee, and missed the entire 2022 season as a result. If he does sign with Gang Green, Beckham would follow in the footsteps of another high-profile wide receiver, Plaxico Burress, who famously left the Giants for the Jets after serving 20 months in an upstate New York prison on a firearms charge.
