George Skivington tried his hardest to console his shattered, tearful Gloucester stars after they endured an agonising defeat in France.
The Cherry and Whites were within two minutes of dumping the holders out of the Champions Cup and sealing a quarter-final place when France wing Teddy Thomas burst over for the winning try.
‘I’m very proud but also gutted,’ said Skivington. ‘To lose like that at the end is very painful. But the guys showed what it means to wear the jersey.’
