Hundreds of Kings fans mobbed players and coaches at Sacramento's airport during the team's return from Portland, after clinching a playoff berth for the first time since 2006.

Fans proudly sang 'Light the Beam' while standing in 40-degree weather on Friday night as they anxiously waited for the team's Delta plane to land at a private terminal at Sacramento International Airport, footage shows.

Kings coach Mike Brown told his players of the supporters gathering before they boarded their one-hour-and-a-half flight, following the team's back-to-back away wins over the Trail Blazers.

'It's crazy. I never experienced anything like that,' Kings guard Malik Monk told The Sacramento Bee

'Looking forward to seeing it. The fanbase has been crazy. I've been saying this every interview almost since I came here. They've been saying, ''Change the culture. We here with you. We here. We want you to make the playoffs. Please make it to the playoffs.'' They've been strong all year.'
