Gary Neville has warned that Liverpool supporters could be braced for similar struggles that Manchester United fans have had to suffer over the last decade.
United's owning Glazer family, headed up by Avram and Joel Glazer, share a toxic relationship with their club's most passionate supporters over concerns about debt, lack of investment in infrastructure, and rare success in recent years.
Meanwhile, Liverpool have celebrated Champions League, FA Cup, League Cup, and Premier League titles during the same period, but problems this season have seen some Reds fans fume at the club's Fenway Sports Group owners.
Liverpool were put up for sale in November, but the principal figure in their ownership model, John W Henry, revealed in February that the Anfield outfit wouldn't be entertaining a takeover and are only interested in accepting a minority stake from investors.
Former Man United full-back Neville, has warned FSG could cause a rift with their own fanbase if Jurgen Klopp was to leave the club.
