Tottenham are set to have a clear run at key managerial target Julian Naglesmann this summer.
Spurs have held exploratory talks with regards to appointing the former Bayern Munich head coach as the club’s next permanent boss.
Tottenham want to complete a a thorough process while Naglesmann is waiting to see who is appointed as next sporting director and wants assurances over the level of control he will would hold over the club’s approach to recruitment before deciding whether to seriously consider any formal approach.
The emergence of Johannes Spors as contender for the vacant sporting directorship is particular intriguing because the administrator has a prior relationship with Naglesmann from the Bundesliga circuit. Brentford technical director Lee Dykes is also among the candidates.
