Matildas superstar Sam Kerr has revealed she almost turned down the opportunity to lead Australia's delegation at King Charles' coronation because she was worried it would clash with her commitments with Chelsea.
Kerr, 29, also said carrying Australia's flag after she was handpicked by Prime Minister Anthony Albanese was an 'amazing honour.'
Incredibly, just over 24 hours after seeing the King crowned, she was on the scoresheet for the Blues against Everton.
'I got offered the opportunity to be a part of it about a month ago while I was in an international camp,' Kerr said ahead of Chelsea's FA
