Arsenal are working closely with police to investigate numerous anti-Semitic posts sent in a private WhatsApp group between the club's fans, according to reports.
The alleged messages appear in the group chat of the Ashburton Army, a renowned fan organisation known for their loud and loyal support of Arsenal at the Emirates every week, and were reportedly sent in 2019.
It is believed the north London club were made aware of the situation soon after the dozens of distressing anti-Semitic messages were sent. The posts not only reference the Holocaust but also propose Israel-Palestine conspiracy theories.
It is believed the Ashburton Army - named after the site on which the Emirates was constructed - has approximately 200 members. Although the discriminatory posts impacted all Jewish people within the organisation, it's understood one former member was targeted in particular.
Despite encouraging the primary target to issue a formal complaint, Arsenal ultimately honoured his wishes by taking no further action against the culprits.
