Sam Allardyce came within touching distance of his first win as Leeds boss but ultimately had to settle for a point against Newcastle on Saturday.

The hosts took an early lead through Luke Ayling and had a golden opportunity to double their advantage after the referee pointed to the spot after Junior Firpo was brought down in the box.

However, Patrick Bamford was unable to convert the ensuing spot kick, and to add insult to injury, Callum Wilson converted a pair of penalties to put the Magpies ahead.

Leeds hit back and equalised through Rasmus Kristensen but the result still sees without a Premier League win in seven and inside the relegation zone with just two games remaining.

Here are some of the more unusual talking points from Leeds 2-2 Newcastle, as discussed by Sportsmail's Joe Bernstein.
