Manchester City fans took to Twitter to bask in the reflected glory of Pep Guardiola's side's demolition of Real Madrid in the second leg of their Champions League final on Wednesday evening. 

After a command performance at the Etihad that saw the team score four on the night, supporters began to crow that the Champions League trophy was theirs to lose just moments after they were confirmed finalists. 

A brace from Bernardo Silva and a goal from super-substitute Julian Alvarez were joined by a calamitous Eder Militao own-goal on a subdued night for the 14-time European Cup winners, with pundits quick to dub the home side's display as a 'masterclass'. 

City will meet Inter Milan in the final in Istanbul in June after the Milanese side quashed their loathed rivals and San Siro co-tenants AC Milan on Tuesday night, but fans in awe of the Cityzens triumphant showing on the night failed to see the Serie A side as a stumbling block in the team's quest for a historic treble. 

One supporter stated simply: 'The trophy is ours'.
