Harry Kane has spoke of his pride over being awarded the Freedom of the City London in a ceremony alongside his family on Thursday at Guildhall.
The England captain was recognised for his outstanding sporting achievements by the City of London in November, but was able to receive the honour this week with his wife Kate and their three children.
The award is one of London's most ancient traditions, believed to have first been given in 1237 where it enabled recipients to carry out their trade.
The 29-year-old took to social media to share his special moment and hoped that it would inspire others in the capital.
Kane tweeted: 'Very proud to have been awarded the Freedom of the City of London at a ceremony yesterday and it was special to have my family there with me too. I hope it can inspire others in all walks of life to be the best they can be.
