Manchester United are weighing up moving for five other striker targets this summer, according to reports, with the club expecting Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy to play hardball in a bid to prevent Harry Kane from leaving.

Spurs talisman Kane, who became his side's all-time record goal scorer this season, is understood to be a prime target for United and Erik ten Hag ahead of the next campaign, although Levy has been notoriously difficult to negotiate with in the past.

As a result, United are actively pursuing alternatives with Ten Hag desperate for a clinical new forward, although their interest in Kane has not yet ended. 

The Manchester Evening News claim that Napoli frontman Victor Osimhen is also on the star-studded shortlist, along with Atalanta youngster Rasmus Hojlund, Benfica ace Goncalo Ramos and Eintracht Frankfurt striker Randal Kolo Muani.

Sources have indicated, however, that Ten Hag is 'obsessed' with Kane.

England international Kane is set to enter the final year of his contract in north London and faces the tangible prospect of missing out on European football altogether, with Spurs at risk of finishing the season in a lowly eighth place.
