Worcestershire seamer Josh Tongue is set to make his England debut in Thursday's one-off Test against Ireland at Lords.
It has been a remarkable rise for the fast bowler who last year feared his career was over such was the severity of the shoulder injury that kept him out of action for 15 months, as it got to the stage where he was even considering alternative employment.
But he returned to such positive effect for the Lions in Sri Lanka last winter and then when he became the first man in county cricket to take the wicket of Steve Smith earlier this season England sprung a surprise.
He will line-up in a bowling attack alongside Stuart Broad, Matt Potts and Jack Leach, with England captain Ben Stokes unlikely to bowl during the game as he continues to manage a long-standing knee problem.
But what can England fans expect from the 25-year-old who was described as a 'big strong lad' and a 'rough diamond' by head coach Brendon McCullum.
