Jose Mourinho threw his runners-up medal into the crowd and waved emotionally at Roma's fans after narrowly falling short of Europa League glory on Wednesday night.
Mourinho, who boasted a perfect European final record ahead of Roma's trip to Budapest, watched his side suffer a 4-1 defeat on penalties against Sevilla, which brought the Spanish outfit their seventh Europa League title in just 17 years.
Paulo Dybala opened the scoring for Mourinho's side shortly after the hour mark, but Gianluca Mancini's own goal in the 55th minute levelled proceedings and contributed to a 1-1 draw at full time.
The tense affair - which saw referee Anthony Taylor dish out 14 yellow cards in total - went to penalties after extra time and ultimately went in favour of Sevilla during the shootout.
Keen not to wear his runners-up medal for long, Mourinho tossed the honour into the crowd towards a Roma fan and swiftly headed down the tunnel.
