Tom Brady has opened up on his relationship with Bill Belichick, claiming 'he learnt so much' from the New England Patriots head coach and that he was 'very fortunate' to be able to play under him during most of his career.
'He very much trusted what I was out there doing in the field, and it went both ways,' the now-retired quarterback told ESPN.
'Ultimately our success was because of so many people in the organization, as coach Belichick would always say, ''do your job,'' and I did as quarterback and leader.'
Together, Brady and Belichick reached the Super Bowl nine times and won six of them to establish one of the longest-lasting AFC dynasties in NFL history.
Brady said he and Belichick 'have a lot of mutual respect' and a 'great' relationship, adding that the Patriots coach 'was one of the first people to text me after we won the Super Bowl in Tampa.'
