The Cincinnati Bengals are unsure if Joe Burrow will be ready in time to face the Los Angeles Rams next Monday after the highest paid NFL quarterback aggravated a calf injury in the team's most recent loss to the Baltimore Ravens.
The 26-year-old threw two touchdown passes in the second half of Sunday's 27-24 loss to the Ravens. The strong finish was a sign of progress for an offense that looked completely out of sorts during a Week 1 loss at Cleveland, during which Burrow was benched in the fourth quarter.
But Burrow, who missed most of training camp due to a strained right calf muscle, was limping by the end of the game against the Ravens. He said he 'tweaked' his calf injury, and he wasn't sure about the seriousness of it.
'I'll give it a couple nights and a couple sleeps,' he said after the game. 'We'll go from there.'
Coach Zac Taylor didn't know much more on Monday, saying it's 'hard to stay' when it comes to his quarterback's health at the moment.
