England Under-20 head coach Joe Edwards has emerged as shock candidate for the vacant Millwall manager's job.
The Championship side are advancing with their recruitment of a new head coach following the departure of Gary Rowett last month.
Former Southampton and Luton boss Nathan Jones is emerging as a leading contender for the position at The Den as the experienced coach seeks a return to management following his sacking at St Mary's earlier this year.
Edwards, however, is understood to be among the names Millwall are keen to speak to as they decide on their next permanent head coach.
